Good Agricultural Practices

Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) involves the use of sound farm management practices and principles to help produce farmers reduce the risk of microbial food safety hazards on their farms while protecting the health of workers and safeguarding the environment. 


By applying Good Agricultural Practices or certifying farm operations against a local or regional GAP standard, Caribbean farmers will be able to reduce the risk of food contamination on produce,
improve produce quality and shelf-life, increase productivity and earn higher income for the improved quality of their goods.
